About Civic Champs

Civic Champs is a volunteer management platform that helps nonprofits of all sizes manage, recruit, track, and schedule volunteers with accuracy and ease. Civic Champs' mobile and web applications help volunteer management leaders minimize their workload while improving the volunteer experience and satisfaction.

The benefit of this integration

Getting all your volunteer entries into your donor management system can be a big help as you steward your contributors, because it lets you see who is contributing across both volunteering and donations. In Civic Champs, you can schedule volunteer opportunities, and as volunteers contribute time those entries are automatically synced over to LGL.

Setting up the integration

In addition to your Little Green Light account, you will need a Civic Champs account. If you don’t have a Civic Champs account, you can read more about it and get started here. 

The steps to activate the integration are:

1. Head to the Integration Settings page in your LGL account (Settings > Integration Settings)
2. On the left side menu, click on Civic Champs
3. On the next page click the blue button to enable Civic Champs. This button does two things:

• Adds a field called “Civic Champs ID” to your LGL account, which is used to sync volunteers from Civic Champs to your LGL account
• Creates a webhooks-based “listener” that will receive submissions from Civic Champs. This listener has a URL specific to your account in the form: youraccountkey.littlegreenlight.com/integrations/civic_champs

4. In your Civic Champs account, you can enable the integration and enter your listener URL

Working with the integration

Once the integration is set up, new volunteer entries will flow automatically from your Civic Champs account to your LGL account. You can also sync past entries in bulk.

On the LGL side, you can choose to set it up so that incoming records are either stored in the integrations queue for review, or your can have the records go all the way through into your LGL account. We recommend using the integrations queue at least until you’re sure the data is coming in as expected. You make this choice in the Integration Settings area:
