What is DonorSearch?

DonorSearch was founded in 2007 with one goal: To provide more accurate, more comprehensive, more actionable data to help nonprofits of all types achieve better fundraising and outreach results.
Headed by industry veterans, DonorSearch is a leading provider of prospect research to nonprofits of all types, including charities, healthcare organizations, fraternities and sororities, religious organizations, and educators. Pulling information from 25 databases, DonorSearch uses proprietary algorithms to help clients find the best philanthropic prospects.

How does the integration work?

The DonorSearch integration has two parts. The first level is an "authenticated linking," meaning that you put your DonorSearch username and password into the fields in LGL and a "DonorSearch" button will appear on constituent search results and constituent pages. Clicking this button will take you directly to DonorSearch so you can review a constituent/donor's details in your DonorSearch account.

The second level of integration is available when you have done a "screening" with DonorSearch and you have data you want to upload into LGL. LGL and DonorSearch have generated a selection of custom fields that can be created in your LGL account to house current DonorSearch research data. Please contact support@littlegreenlight.com to request adding these fields to your account, allowing up to 3 business days from the day of your request for the process to be completed. This process works as follows:

  • You prepare an export from LGL with the consultation of DonorSearch. Be certain to include the LGL Constituent ID in that export in addition to any other fields they may need.
  • When the screening has been completed, you will work with DonorSearch to import the data into your LGL account using the fields set up for you.

When LGL sets up the DonorSearch fields for you, we a) create a new, defined area in your constituent details view and b) add a pre-defined set of fields for you that will contain a single set of DonorSearch data. IMPORTANT NOTE: The fields LGL adds in this process are fixed and cannot be changed or customized for the DonorSearch integration.
