Delete an import from the Flex Importer

In this article:

Overview

In the Flex Importer, you'll see four tabs, each of which indicate the status of an import, and a storage area for import templates:

  • Open/Active Imports
  • Completed Imports
  • Rejected Imports
  • Templates

These tabs are available on the Flex Importer landing page:

Open/Active Imports is where your import lives until you kick off the import process. Completed Imports are your completed, accepted imports for which the data in your import spreadsheets has been successfully imported into LGL. Rejected Imports are imports that have been rejected during the import process. Templates are import templates that have been previously saved.

Whether an import can be deleted depends on its status

Delete an open/active import

Any import that is open/active can be deleted. Its open/active status means no records have been saved from the import into LGL. To delete any open/active import, click the Delete button for that import.

Keep in mind, once you delete an open import, you would need to upload the file again if you want to save that data into your account.

A note on rejected imports

Rejected imports are imports that were rejected during the import process. A rejected import can be deleted by clicking the Delete button within that tab, shown here:

NOTE: If you selectively/manually save a few rows of the import, the import retains an open/active status but it can no longer be deleted. Only imports that are both open/active and have zero saved records can be deleted.

Undo a completed import

No completed import that you have saved even a single record from can be deleted in the same way that you can delete an open/active import.

However, you can undo the most recently completed import in your account, and subsequently older imports, in reverse sequential order. In other words, the most recently imported file (completed import) can be undone. Following that, the most recent import can be undone, and so on. This "undo" action effectively removes the imported data from LGL.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Before undoing an import, keep in mind that any changes you made to those imported records will be lost. However, if the import is not the most recent and you don’t want to undo the imports that precede it sequentially in order to undo it, but you need to make changes to that imported data, you may be able to make the changes through bulk data editing

To undo the most recently completed import, navigate to Home > Flex Importer and select the Completed Imports tab. Then select the "Review" button. You should then see the "Undo import" option.
