What is a multi-step form?
A multi-step form offers multiple steps to keep the height of the form contained.
All of the steps display at once as you’re creating or editing the form, but only one step at a time will be displayed in the live form, when someone fills it out and submits it.
How to build a multi-step form
To build a multi-step form, navigate to LGL Forms > Forms, and click the Add new form button:

Custom form
A dialog opens, where you can select which type of form you want to create. You have a couple of options here. You can select a custom form and set it to be a multi-step form in Edit mode, as shown in the next two screenshots:

This can be a non-payment or payment form. From here, you can make whatever additions or changes you need, including add confirmation options and publish the form.
Donation widget
You can also click the Donation widget option, which is a template you can use to create a multi-step payment form:

When you select the donation widget, a new dialog opens, where you can add or update some of the default settings in the form template, such as:
- Form name
- Whether the form will accept recurring donations
- The payment account the form will use
- The enhanced theme you want to apply (using an enhanced theme is required here)
- The donor’s contact information
Click Create form when you’ve made your selections.

The form will be created in Edit mode, and you’ll be able to add and customize fields as you would with any form.

NOTE: If you change your mind and don’t want this to be a payment form after it’s been created, you can always uncheck the “Multi-step form?” box in the form settings.
Add an additional step to your multi-step form
To add an additional step to your form, click the Add a layout field button and select the Step option.

You can then click the Re-order fields button in the top right of the screen to drag and drop the new step in the order in which you want it to appear in the form.
